What Foods Should I Avoid?

Excessive consumption of high-glycemic carbohydrates is the primary culprit in nutritionally caused health problems. High glycemic carbohydrates are those that raise blood sugar too rapidly. They include rice, bread, candy, potato, sweets, sodas, and most processed carbohydrates. Processing can include bleaching, baking, grinding, and refining. Processing of carbohydrates greatly increases their glycemic index, a measure of their propensity to elevate blood sugar.

  1. This is not a diet. It is a lifestyle. What is hard to accept is how LOW FAT foods can be bad for you.

Folks who don't stick to it don't do it because it doesn't work. They don't stick to it because they miss eating starches and sugars.

This lifestyle is not about completely avoiding it. You MUST give yourself some "cheat" time for this to be reasonable and sustainable.

  2. I agree Lou! I called it a diet because it is the word so many know all too well. This is a life style and its hard work. Those who have never been there know too well how hard it is to put down that soda or give up that large bowl of pasta.

Those of us who have changed our styles of eating appreciate those snacks a little more and use those snacks as an incentive to workout harder to burn those calories!

    Thanks Lou!!!
